What was the 2025 Synjin Sheneman Memorial PRIDE Art Show? Read on…
In 2022, the community lost Geneva High School junior Synjin Sheneman in a tragic accident. Synjin was a free spirit and a special soul. He had an enthusiasm for life, a fierce dedication to his friends and family, and a deep love and talent for art.
Ashtabula Pride, Inc and Darkroom Brewing Co. are proud to have hosted the inaugural Synjin Sheneman Memorial PRIDE Art Show. This art exhibition celebrated pride, love, diversity and equality in Ashtabula County.
The art show was displayed at Darkroom Brewing Co. in Geneva from June 1 - 11. Artists in every medium could submit their artwork in any medium, free of charge in this juried show. As a kick off to the annual Ashtabula Pride Festival, the art show began with an artists reception at Darkroom on June 4 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The free reception was open to artists, their families, friends, and supporters.
By sponsoring the Synjin Sheneman Memorial Art Show, you had the opportunity to promote your business in front of a diverse audience and show your support of the LGBTQ+ and allied community. Please consider a future donation in any amount to support the artists awards, the display, and the reception costs. Sponsors of $100 or more were honored with rainbow tabletop centerpieces at the reception and recognition by reception Master of Ceremonies drag entertainer Vivian Vendetta Sinclair. Sponsors of $100 also received a photo of Vivian holding a sign with their name or business logo.
Thank you for your support for art and in the mission of equality for all people!
